Methodology

Whilst there are many steps undertaken in a recruitment assignment  we believe there are four critical stages to any assignment which need to be handled expertly in a diligent and timely manner.

Stage 1 – Job and Person Analysis

Understanding the Key responsibilities, accountabilities and KPI’s of the role and the requisite skills knowledge and experience to be successful in the role, along with the values, attitudes and behaviours to ensure an optimum cultural and team fit.

Stage 2 – Sourcing Candidates

Researching and Mapping the market place where the candidates may come from and then utilising a combination of methodologies to attract those candidates – print and media advertising, our own wide network of contacts, database, Headhunting (direct, proactive approach), Social Media and physical networking. Reliance on one or two methodologies will not guarantee sourcing the best available candidate, a combination of all of them needs to be undertaken.

Stage 3 – Assessment

Once candidates have been identified it is important to use a variety of assessment techniques to ascertain their suitability. The use of a number of assessment techniques such as competency interviews, personality and abilities assessments and behavioural reference checking ensures that all the skills, competencies and traits identified in the position and person analyses are assessed for each candidate. This results in a strongly relevant shortlist. At Grow, we like to be involved in the initial round of client interviews as well to ensure we understand exactly how the candidate has performed when feedback is given and ensure they have put their best foot forward.

Stage 4 – Finalisation

This oft-neglected stage is when the verbal offer is made, any negotiations re terms and conditions are undertaken and the candidate is counselled through the resignation and any potential counter-offer stage. At Grow, we directly undertake this crucial aspect of the process to ensure that everyone is happy and the candidate does not change his/her mind
